What is Shotcrete, and Why Do You Use It? How Does it Differ From Gunite?

The American Shotcrete Association uses the term Shotcrete to describe all sprayed concrete or mortar. This includes both dry-mix and wet-mix processes. Gunite is a type of shotcrete, but this refers only to the dry-mix process.

At Idaho Pool & Spa, we only use the wet-mix process because no other material is stronger or more durable when it comes to the construction of pools and spas. Using this process also allows us to hand sculpt your custom pool or spa.

Fiberglass and vinyl materials do not allow for custom designs. They are only available from manufacturers in limited shapes and sizes. Additionally, neither of these materials are as strong as shotcrete.

Do You Offer Salt Systems?

Yes. In fact, we have found that this is one of the most popular requests from homeowners. We use the IntelliChlor® Salt Chlorinator from Pentair Water Pool & Spa.
